This image emphasizes Tomo's desperation and loneliness at this point, and even does a bit of foreshadowing for the rest of the film.
I like that this is a picture of a guy looking at a picture and shows Mareck admiring Maria.
The lighting, the awestruck faces of Maria and Tomo, and Mareck clearly admiring Maria again give this image a generally happy and whimsical feel to it, and make it very aesthetically pleasing.
This image comically shows the the devastation of Tomo and Mareck as they drink their sorrows away after Maria leaves for Paris. Also, there are a bunch of creepy little hands in the background on the gates that I didn't notice before.
This snapshot successfully captures the anger and disappointment of Mareck's father, while simultaneously catching Tomo's drunken joy and Mareck's shock and confusion at the situation.
