I chose this shot because I love the balance and symmetry of the scene. It is symmetrical in the mirrored positioning of the two bodies. The woman's wears a dark shirt cutting in a light area while the man has on a light shirt and is cutting in a dark space, balancing the composition beautifully. Also, the viewer feels as if they are watching a very close and intimate moment.
I chose this shot because I like how mysterious, dark, and eerie the mood is. This is due to the dramatic dark tones used, leading the eye all the way down the dark ally way. I enjoy the puddle in the center of the ally, adding some reflective light to the scene.
I chose this shot because of its perspective. I like how there are both horizontal and vertical lines crossing each other and how the lines begin to curve upwards on either side of the center. The viewer can really feel the gigantic size of the building through the way it takes up the entire width of the shot and by the people showing the scale.
I chose this shot because i find it humorous. It perfectly captures the awkward stage of adolescence these boys are in. They are not quite old or mature enough to be getting drunk, yet they have outgrown the rocking horses and look completely oversized on them.
I chose this shot because I like the amount of movement and motion it captures. You can really tell these characters are moving around wildly and chaotically.
I enjoy the barrier created between the scene and the viewer in this shot due to the horizontal and vertical white lines lying across the entire shot. I also like how the figure is just a shadow, and the details are not revealed.
I chose this shot because i love how the light reflects off of the tops of the boys heads. Also, it really shows how this is a coming of age story.
I love was attracted to this shot because of the way the characters stance mimics the diagonal angle of the staircase railings. I also enjoy the light coming from behind and the intense contrast between light and dark.
